Tito - tjobÄng.xm 5.611 - ***+ * obviously knows what he's doing but is just being flippant * ...cool! something creative...good mixture in style...but, too short.. * variation ! thanx ! i like it ! good variated patterns and a special s tyle...thanx for entering again... * I like the groove section, would have been nice if you had held it out more. Some of the ways you handled rolls sounded realistic with both hands moving and such. * Nice beginning, bit short.... * nice ending :] * Cool! Your partchanges are very good. Funny finish... But I don't count the melody at the end... * 45 seconds of something that kicks my entry. :) Nice variation of styles, and well tracked. Good work! =) 2. TheFear&Aspax - d&s-ss.xm 5.500 - ***+ * ah, some neat ideas. almost went d&b.. ALMOST, thank god. * One of the better drum tunes * ...nice kind'a jungle-part in the mid...BTW: I don't like jungle... * one of better modules, with variation and some weird effects.. ;) * There are too many rests in this song. Drums rest enough without othe r instruments, don't need them resting when they're alone. * Groovy! Nice use of panning, and the use of the samples is quite nice too. * weird. * Good rythms. Technois drumsolo. Good feel. Kicked alot. pattern 31-35 didn't rule that much * Funky, Funky... Realy Cool... Not so boring, like other songs... * w00w00, jungle shiznit. :D 3. Ben-Jam - b-j_tt30.it 5.438 - *** * good effort. obviously has a lot of real-life drumming experience * some good patterns with groove rythm, but also too many abnormal break s and unsteady sequences.... * Very nice and well written, kept my attention and stuff. * unrealistic toms * Hmm, didn't like that crashusage... Some of the breaks were rather irritating. * Finaly... A very good song again... Not boring... cool... And Filteremulation... Must be on one of the top * Yup, you're good. =) 4. Pothead - pot30a.it 5.353 - *** * impressive.. the porta'd drum idea isnt new but here it works especially well * ...good, but too short in my opinion...bit wierd... * pothead is back...some good patterns and styles, but i think u can do better than this !... * Ends rather abruptly, don't you think? Nice grooves. * Simon says "JUMP!" * nice reverbs * Techno... Super, but a little bit wired... * Not bad... :) 5. Liam The Lemming - tb-sikk.it 5.059 - *** * very very bland * ...really creative...not as boring as the other .ITs...could have been a bit longer... BTW: I don't think you'll have to be teached how to write percussion. * as usual u do what u can of the samples ! thanx ! u made me listen to the whold module ! ;) groove with a real feel.... * Would have been better if it wasn't so repetitive. You had some great communication between the different instruments. * Hey, Lemm, your base rythm isn't that good, but your addondrums are good. * It's ok... Little bit boring, but funky... But there is something missing... And, one good thing, NO MELODY... * Come back siners, all is forgiven. =( - Lemm 6. I can tell there was some attention to detail in this . * Th intro is nice, but the noise that comes in later really really really sucks...... * Cool drum-atmosphere. But a bit too boring. * Another Melody... little bit wired tune... This gives me a little bit the creep...... * Nice idea - when the samplepack limits you, use your imagination. Cool seashore section. ;) I caught something resembling a melody in there, tho... so I had to take off a few points. :> 7. That retrig is too much used. Not man y people that I know can play that fast for that long with two bass pe dals, and it's a good thing too. Other than that, nice solo. * Not exactly too much orginality. Irritating crash.. ;) * Ok, but where did you learn to changes rythem? Try it again... And by the way, these were good samples. * The toms R stupid, and the intro is dumb. * Amateurish, and a very irritating tom. But cool anyway, sortof... * Hey... There is a bad melody... And without it, it's the same as with it... A not very good tune... * Bit iffy. 14. Dionysus - t30-drfr.xm 3.333 - ** * ive heard much much worse * ...now I know that trance-musicians can't make propper drums... * partly good, but we need some more variations ! * Way too repetitive of the same fill, and too long. That poor drummer' s arms are gonna fall off! * repetitive. * It isn't normally for baccus to do drums * Hey!!! Little bit boring, or??? Where is "the something special"? But Ok... No Melody (that count's not for all songs!!! and then they have a bad melody,too... Only the Tune from wiz is good with a melody. .. * Bleh... got too boring too quickly. I'll be offering a samplepack in 1 hour, if you get them I'll declare you an contestant. If you weren't there in time, you can always get the sample- pack from ftp.cdrom.com /pub/demos/incoming/music/tt/samples, just make sure you get the most recent pack. In the samplepack there is a file called deadline.txt, this shows the date and time when the deadline is. Right after you get the pack you can begin tracking. I want all the tunes back before the following weekend, same time(1am cet/7pm est). I'll be on IRC as axl_ (of course) at that time so you can just dcc them to me, or mail it to 'axelsson@freenet.hut.fi' with either UUEncode or MIME. This is just the deadline so you can send your tune to me during the week. * Note : TT is on AnotherNet, so connect your irc-client to one of these AnotherNet servers: - neato.org - irc.netnation.com - serve.org ---- voting ---- week : 2 The vote-pack will be out 1-2 hours after the compo-deadline and the pack will be available on IRC and on FTP : - ftp.cdrom.com /pub/demos/incoming/music/tt/votepacks - ftp.arosnet.se /demo/musicdisk - filename : tt##vote.zip - where ## is the number of the contest. The results will be out 1 week after the compo has ended, it'll be distributed on IRC and in the next sample-pack. Module Max Size : 150k (153600 bytes, uncompressed, unpacked!) Tracking Time : 1 Week. (From Sun 01.00AM CET) External Samples : NONE! * Only one tune per composer * The tune may NOT! be compressed with any modulecompressor to make it lower than 150k. * You can do co-ops, but you have to tell me that when I declare contestants. * You have to judge the compo-tunes if you enter the compo. * You have to either DCC'd or mailed me your entry _before_ Sun 1AM CET the week after. * You may edit the samples in the tracker in whatever way you want, you may NOT copy the samples and make several different instruments. (one sample, one instrument). You may NOT use any external program to edit/process the samples. * Be sure to write in the sample-test what you did to the sample you changed (that does not include sample-pitching). * Written your handle in the sample-text. * If the competitor doesn't follow this rules, then his module has the right to be disqualified. * Please delete the samples you dont use from the sample-pack.
